The Adelaide Advertiser reports on news in the city of Adelaide and across South Australia. The newspaper is published each morning Monday to Saturday, in tabloid format. The Sunday version of the newspaper is called the Adelaide Sunday Mail. The Advertiser was originally a broadsheet newspaper called "The South Australian Advertiser," founded on 12 July 1858. Rupert Murdoch inherited the newspaper from this father, Sir Keith Murdoch, when Sir Keith died in 1952. The Advertiser marked the beginning of the media career of the younger Murdoch, who went on to build News Limited, which is now a newspaper subsidiary of News Corporation.
