CBC TV 8 is a public television station in Barbados operated by the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, which is part of the government of Barbados. It is the only licensed over-the-air broadcast station in the country. The channel was launched in 1964 on channel 3, and moved to channel 8 in 1991. CBC airs a one-hour evening news program at 7 PM on weekdays. The programming mix includes locally produced shows, movies and American soap operas.
