Edmonton Journal is a daily newspaper in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada covering local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events.
The Journal was founded in 1903 by three local businessmen -- John Macpherson, Arthur Moore and J.W. Cunningham -- as a rival to Alberta's first newspaper, the Edmonton Bulletin. In 1912, the Journal was sold to the Southam family. It remained under Southam ownership until 1996, when it was acquired by Hollinger International, Inc. The Journal was subsequently sold to Canwest in 2000. After Canwest filed for bankruptcy, its newspaper holdings were acquired by Postmedia Network Inc. in 2010.

-- November 4, 2010 -- Paul Cashman is now sports editor at The Edmonton Journal. He was previously business editor there. He replaces sports editor Bob Boehm, who recently left the newspaper.
