Since Mike Keenan destroyed this team it has under performed. True there were minor flashes of success but this team is in a constant state of flux and rebuilding. They repeatedly fail to rise to the game tone of their opponents and find ways to adapt to surpass it. The whole of this team is once again less than the sum of its' parts. True, it is only the first game in a long series, however in each game played one team has to win. This team, like in last year's play offs, is failing to answer the bell. Their opponents do.
