Recent stories and articles about the carbon tax as a solution to reduce global warming is an interesting concept. I have not yet come across a complete coverage of all the attributes of this plan. The impact on ( for example ) the trucking industry and how there are no longer any southern BC railways to bulk haul goods is a topic of epic proportions. Spiralling costs of goods and services in these geographical areas impacting consumers, particularly the " working poor" and the already hard hit wood industry is but a portion of the issue. Impacts on farming and food production would be another topic. Transportation in general throughout the province would be adversely effected, at least to those least able to absorb the increased costs. Global warming must be addressed to be sure. So far no media report has touched on these negative issues or how we might resolve them. there is a potential to dramatically increase homelessness and unemployment in any plan not thoroughly inspected prior to implementation. Food for thought.
