Hamilton Spectator is a newspaper in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada covering local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events.
The Spectator, or "Spec" as it's sometimes known, began publishing July 15, 1846 as The Hamilton Spectator and Journal of Commerce. William Southam, founder of the Southam newspaper chain, bought the Spectator in 1877. Torstar Corporation, which publishes the Metroland community newspapers, acquired the Spectator in 1999.
