France Soir is a daily newspaper in Paris, France covering local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events. France Soir was founded as the underground paper Défense de la France in November 1944 by Pierre Lazareff. It was renamed after World War II, and became one of the most widely read newspapers in France. Having lost circlation since the 1960's, the paper declared bankruptcy in 2005. It was relaunched as a tabloid in 2006. The web site is presented in the French language.
