An Phoblacht is a newspaper in Dublin, Ireland covering local politics and government.
An Phoblacht (Irish for "The Republic") is the official newspaper of Sinn Fein, a political party in Ireland with a leftist ideology that supports Irish "republicanism." Sinn Fein, which is Irish for "ourselves," is associated with the Provisional IRA. An Phoblacht is published once a week, selling up to 15,000 copies per week. The newspaper provides a weekly commentary on all aspects of Irish politics. It was known as "An Phoblacht/Republican News" from 1979 until September 2005, when it was officially relaunched as An Phoblacht.
