Channel 2 is a TV station in Tel Aviv, Israel covering entertainment programs and local news. Launched in November 1993, Channel 2 is Israel’s first and most popular commercial television channel. Its launch broke the Israeli Broadcasting Authority’s 25-year monopoly and established nationwide television broadcasts. Channel 2 broadcasts are provided by two "franchisees," Reshet and Keshet. News is produced and broadcast by the Israeli News Company, which is financed by the two franchisees. Channel 2 broadcasts between 22 to 24 hours each day. This TV station is owned by Yedioth Ahronoth Group. The web site is presented in the Hebrew language.
