In 2006, Forbes magazine ran a story about the rise of NDTV, titled "News Delhi TV":

"Three nights a week, Prannoy Roy anchors the main, 9 o'clock news on India's top-rated English-language news channel, NDTV 24x7. He's every bit the trusted, reassuring news presenter, right down to his trademark salt-and-pepper beard. "I would do it more often, but I'm a bit lazy," says the 56-old Roy.

Another spoiled media star, getting bigger and bigger bucks for less and less work? Hardly. Roy and his wife and business partner, Radhika, run the place. They started New Delhi Television and now own 54%."

Turner Broadcasting Ups Stake In India's NDTV, the Los Angeles Times reported on December 17, 2009:

"Turner already owns several networks in India, including versions of CNN and Cartoon Network. It also owns Pogo, a children's channel.

"India continues to be a key priority for us," said Steve Marcopoto, president of Turner Broadcasting's Asia Pacific unit.

Besides NDTV Imagine, Turner is taking control of NDTV Imagine Pictures, a movie production company, and a couple of smaller networks. The parent of NDTV Imagine is New Delhi Television, a closely held Indian broadcaster headed by husband-and-wife team Prannoy and Radhika Roy that owns dozens of channels."
