Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 12:51am on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009 | The Fall 2008 issue of Carnegie Reporter included this about Al-Hurra:
"A June 2008 report published by independent journalism project Pro Publica noted that Al-Hurra's Virginia newsroom was heavily staffed with Lebanese Christians, while a State Department monitor described its broadcasts as "very pro-Lebanese, pro-Hezbollah.
"Journalists attending the Arab Media Forum in Dubai tended to be dismissive of Al-Hurra. One Arab journalist called it "the Pentagon channel," while another described it as "a joke - an expensive joke." Al-Hurra has a loyal following in Iraq, where pro-American Iraqis welcome it as a respite from the sharply polarized local broadcasters."
