Canal 5 (XHGC TV 5) is a TV station in Mexico City, Mexico covering entertainment programs and local news. XHGC-TV, commonly known as Canal 5, has affiliates and repeaters throughout Mexico. The station signed on in 1952, it was established by Guillermo González Camarena, a Mexican engineer who was the inventor of modern color television. The station's call letters reflect his surnames. He was director and general manager of XHGC until his death in 1965. This TV station is owned by Televisa S.A. de C.V.. The web site is presented in the Spanish language.
