Hurriyet

Hurriyet is a daily newspaper in Istanbul, Turkey covering local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events.

Hurriyet (which is Turkish for "Liberty") is a widely read Turkish newspaper, founded by Sedat Simavi on May 1, 1948. Hurriyet tends to favor secular and strongly nationalist views, and it's motto is "Turkey belongs to Turks." Hurriyet publishes an English-language edition called the Hurriyet Daily News.

This newspaper is owned by Dogan Media Group.
