WIIQ TV 19 is an affiliate of the PBS Television Network.
First aired in 1955, WIIQ out of Demopolis covers the southwestern portion of Alabama known as the "Black Belt" as well as some counties in eastern central Mississippi. The station is part of Alabama Public Television. APT is a network of public television stations created by the Alabama state legislature in 1953. When the APT network of stations first aired in 1954, Alabama became the first state in the nation with an educational television network. WTIQ (now WCIQ) was APT's first station. The network continues to offer an educational resource for viewers of all ages 24 hours a day.
