WEIQ TV 42 is an affiliate of the PBS Television Network.

First aired in 1963, WEIQ out of Mobile broadcasts along Alabama's Gulf Coast and several counties to the north as well as parts of southeastern Mississippi and northwestern Florida. The station is part of Alabama Public Television. APT is a network of public television stations created by the Alabama state legislature in 1953. When the APT network of stations first aired in 1954, Alabama became the first state in the nation with an educational television network. WTIQ (now WCIQ) was APT's first station. The network continues to offer an educational resource for viewers of all ages 24 hours a day.

This TV station is owned by Alabama Public Television.
