The Atlanta Jewish Times is an independent publication founded in 1925 as The Southern Israelite. The title was changed to The Atlanta Jewish Times shortly after Kansas based Sun Publications, Inc. purchased the newspaper in 1986. Ownership was transferred to Charles Buerger, his son Andrew, and then Detroit-based Jewish Renaissance Media before Andrew Adler bought the publication in April 2009.
