Established in 1989, the Metro Spirit covers the arts, local issues, news, entertainment, people, places and events. Portico Publications suspended publication of the newspaper after the release of the March 2, 2011 issue. The new owner, 15 House LLC, resumed publication on April 14, 2011.
This publication is a member of the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies (AAN). AAN is a group of weekly newspapers and magazines providing journalism that offers an alternative to the mainstream media in the area.
