Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 2:21pm on Thursday, September 10th, 2009 | Kurt Mueller has been named General Manager of RedEye and Metromix, Chicago Tribune Media Group announced on September 9, 2009.
Mueller joined the company in 2000, and has delivered results in a number of leadership roles, most recently serving as Senior Director of Business Development for Tribune Interactive. He has also led many initiatives for RedEye, namely the launch of its weekend edition in 2007.
"I am excited about the opportunity to lead such an accomplished group. RedEye and Metromix have a history of success in delivering original content that provides insight and entertainment to Chicagoans on a daily basis. It is an honor to be part of the team," said Mueller.
RedEye and Metromix are central to Chicago Tribune Media Group's portfolio approach to serving niche consumer needs and providing advertisers with targeted solutions to reach their customers. As RedEye approaches its seventh anniversary this October, it claims the City's largest weekday daily distribution with 200,000 copies. Its weekend edition, home-delivered on Saturday mornings, has built up a subscriber base of 130,000.
Metromix, featured regularly in RedEye, continues to be a leading online entertainment source for Chicagoans with more than 10 million unique visitors and 100 million page views annually.
