First published in September 1906, The Southtown Star covers the Chicago metropolitan area, the south suburbs of Chicago and the South Side neighborhoods. In November 2007, the twice-weekly neighborhood newspaper, The Star (Tinley Park) merged into the Daily Southtown creating the Southtown Star.
