Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 12:18am on Tuesday, June 30th, 2009 | Hearst Television station KCCI-TV in Des Moines has been honored with national Edward R. Murrow Awards, given by the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). KCCI received two honors, for Best Newscast and Overall Excellence.
The station was recognized in part for coverage of major weather events impacting the region. Judges cited KCCI's expanded hour-long 6 p.m. newscast during the 2008 Iowa floods.
