Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic is a TV station in Baltimore, Maryland, USA covering local sports news and events.
Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (CSN Mid-Atlantic) is a regional sports network that delivers live-game coverage and sports news and entertainment television programming to more than 4.7 million households throughout the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore region of the United States.
The network serves as the official television partner of the Washington Redskins, Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, D.C. United and Washington Mystics, as well as the home of the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Colonial Athletic Association.The network was founded in 1984 as Home Team Sports (HTS), one of the first regional sports networks in the country. Comcast agreed to acquire a two-thirds ownership stake in HTS from Viacom on July 11, 2000.[1] The transaction was completed seven months later in mid-February 2001.[2] HTS was relaunched as Comcast SportsNet on April 4, 2001.In 2010, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic split its website into two regional websites and rebranded them as Comcast SportsNet Baltimore and Comcast SportsNet Washington. While the websites were rebranded, the Baltimore and Washington markets still show the same programming, and therefore are still collectively known as Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic.This TV station is owned by Comcast Corporation.
