Fall River is located in Bristol County, Massachusetts. The city is located about 46 miles south of Boston. On August 4, 1892, Fall River was the scene of two murders allegedly committed by Lizzie Borden. These grisly murders are remembered in a children's rhyme originally created for jumping rope: "Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks, when she saw what she had done she gave her father forty-one." Borden was ultimately acquitted of the murders, although she was widely assumed to have been guilty.
