Beginning January 19, 2010, Michigan television station WXYZ 7 is holding a live telethon to raise funds for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

Funds raised will support the work of The American Red Cross to supply food, water, temporary shelter, medical services and emotional support to victims in Haiti. Every dollar raised through the telethon will go directly to the "Help for Haiti" fund.

"When a catastrophic event of this magnitude occurs, it's critical that all of us do whatever we can in an effort to provide assistance to the survivors whose lives are in complete turmoil," said Bob Sliva, WXYZ-TV Vice President and General Manager. "Channel 7 is proud to partner with the American Red Cross in their relief efforts in Haiti."
