Grand Rapids is located on the Grand River about 40 miles east of Lake Michigan. It is the county seat of Kent County, Michigan, and the second largest city in Michigan (after Detroit). Grand Rapids is home to five of the world's leading office furniture companies and is nicknamed the "Furniture City".
