WLUC TV 6 is an affiliate of the NBC Television Network.
WLUC-TV began broadcasting as WDMJ-TV on April 28, 1956. It was owned by the Daily Mining Journal. In 1964, the station was sold to Post Corporation, owners of WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The station's call letters were subsequently changed to the current WLUC-TV to match its moniker at the time, "Lucky 6" (though some locals would say the calls stood for "With Luck You C TV"). It was subsequently acquired by Raycom Media, Inc.. Following Raycom Media's purchase of The Liberty Corporation in late 2005, the company announced that WLUC would be sold in order to help meet Federal Communications Commission restrictions on station ownership. On March 27, 2006, Raycom sold WLUC to Barrington Broadcasting.
This TV station is owned by Barrington Broadcasting Group LLC.
