The Muskegon Chronicle announces cutbacks:

On March 23, 2009, Muskegon Chronicle Publisher and Editor Paul Keep posted a note to readers, explaining that changes at the paper:

"I want you to know that The Chronicle will remain a seven-day-a-week paper as long as it can afford to do so," he wrote. "As we move forward, our remaining employees will make sacrifices toward that goal through reductions in their pay and cost-sharing for their benefits. These changes will not be easy to absorb on an individual basis, but I know our employees will remain committed to producing the best possible newspaper for you."
