The newspaper is published six days a week - Monday through Friday and on Sunday.
The Southeast Missourian began publication on October 3, 1904 as The Daily Republican. The newspaper changed its name to the Southeast Missourian in 1918. In late 1976, the newspaper was sold to Thomson Newspapers. It was then purchased by Gary Rust in 1986. It is the flagship publication of Rust Communications.
