Sales trainer Todd Natenberg searches in vain for logic in contending that spam is the manifestation of an inalienable right to free speech, in the "Commentary" section of the Kansas City Star, published on January 11, 2010:

"If you don’t want people to call you, don’t have your phone number listed. If you don’t want people to speak to you, don’t go out in public. And if you don’t want people to e-mail you, don’t own a computer.

“Spamming,” according to Newton’s Telecom Dictionary, “is the random indiscriminate posting of items on computer bulletin boards.” But it is not random and indiscriminate to e-mail free information to help others in an effort to earn their business."
