Las Vegas Sun is a daily newspaper in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA covering local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events. The Las Vegas Sun was founded in 1950 by Hank Greenspun, who served as its editor until his death. The newspaper was published in the mornings until 1990, when it switched to afternoon publication. On October 2, 2005, the Sun began print distribution as a section within the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the other daily paper in Las Vegas. The two newspapers share business operations under the terms of a joint operating agreement. Las Vegas Sun editor Brian Greenspun is the son of Hank Greenspun and a personal friend of former U.S. President Bill Clinton. This newspaper is owned by Greenspun Media Group. The web site is presented in the English language.

"Awarded to the Las Vegas Sun, and notably the courageous reporting by Alexandra Berzon, for the exposure of the high death rate among construction workers on the Las Vegas Strip amid lax enforcement of regulations, leading to changes in policy and improved safety conditions."
The Pulitzer Prize is awarded for a distinguished example of meritorious public service by a newspaper or eligible news organization through the use of its journalistic resources which, as well as reporting, may include editorials, cartoons, photographs, graphics and online material, presented in print or online or both, a gold medal.

Eric Kallgren Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 11:45am on Monday, May 11th, 2009 | The Las Vegas Sun won two EPpy awards on May 7, 2009, Editor & Publisher magazine announced. The newspaper won for Best Newspaper-Affiliated Web Site (with fewer than one million unique monthly visitors); and Best Web Special Feature -- News or Event (with fewer than one million unique monthly visitors) for its “History of Las Vegas” entry.
The EPpy Awards honor the best Web sites in the media world, including newspapers, TV/cable, radio and magazines. Nearly 400 entries were submitted for this year’s competition, which were evaluated by nearly 50 judges.
