Hackensack is the county seat of Bergen County, New Jersey. An inner-ring suburb of New York City, Hackensack is located approximately 12 miles northwest of Midtown Manhattan, and about 7 miles from the George Washington Bridge. The Metropolitan campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University straddles the Hackensack River and is located in both Hackensack and Teaneck.
