Albany is the capital city of the state of New York, the seat of Albany County and the central city of New York's Capital District. Roughly 150 miles north of New York City, Albany sits on the west bank of the Hudson River. The city is home to a number of colleges and universities. Among them are The Albany Medical College, Albany Law School, The Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, SUNY Albany, The College of Saint Rose, Excelsior College, Maria College, Mildred Elley and Sage College of Albany.
