The Post-Star is one of the most unobjective, biased rags on the market today. It has zilch credibililty and engages in selective journalism in that it covers up for the dirty politicians, cops and judges. The Post-Star and editor Ken Tingley practice inconsistent, illogical, biased, highly prejudicial if not illegal and absurd policies.

People need to know that not only does Joyce Dehli, vice president for news of Lee Enterprises, owner of The Post-Star, sit on the Pulitzer Prize board, but the real capper is that Ken Tingley, the former sports writer who was transplanted to call himself editor of The Post-Star, was a Pulitzer judge. It’s highly unethical that one of Tingley’s co-jurors on last year’s panel of judges was one of the five jurors who gave Mahoney the prize this year. that Pulitzer was bought and paid for by Lee Enterprises. The whole newspaper is a joke. The only reason it's still in business is that it's the only daily in that area. If the Albany Times-Union ever decides to expand or some other daily emerges, The Post-Star will be history.

The Glens Falls Post-Star won a 2009 Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing on April 20, 2009.

The Pulitzer was awarded to Mark Mahoney of The Post-Star, Glens Falls, N.Y., for his relentless, down-to-earth editorials on the perils of local government secrecy, effectively admonishing citizens to uphold their right to know.

The prize is awarded for distinguished editorial writing, the test of excellence being clearness of style, moral purpose, sound reasoning, and power to influence public opinion in what the writer conceives to be the right direction, in print or online or both, ten thousand dollars ($10,000).
