Ithaca Times

The Ithaca Times describes itself as "Ithaca's community newspaper for more than 40 years." It was launched in 1972 as the Ithaca New Times out of the need for independence from Ithaca College's student newspaper. In 1977, the Ithaca New Times merged with the local weekly, the Good Times Gazette, to create the Ithaca Times.

The Ithaca Times is the parent newspaper of the Finger Lakes Community Newspapers (FLCN) group, which is owned by Newski Inc. The other newspapers in the group are the Spencer Random Harvest, Newfield News, Candor Chronicle, Lansing Ledger, Groton Independent, Dryden Courier, Ovid Gazette, Trumansburg Free Press and the Interlaken Review. News reports from all FLCN papers are incorporated at the Ithaca Times website (link below).

This publication is a member of the Association of Alternative Newsmedia (AAN). AAN is a group of newspapers and magazines providing journalism that offers an alternative to the mainstream media in the area.
