WABC TV 7 is the flagship station of the ABC Television Network, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company. It broadcasts from a tower on the Empire State Building in Manhattan and has its studios near Lincoln Center on Manhattan's upper west side, where ABC corporate headquarters are also located.
WABC first went on the air on August 10, 1948 as WJZ TV. The call letters were changed to WABC TV on March 1, 1953.
