WNBC TV 4 is a TV station in New York City, New York, USA covering NBC network programs, local news and weather.

WNBC TV 4 is an affiliate of the NBC Television Network.

WNBC TV 4 began broadcasting in 1928 as experimental television station W2XBS, founded by the Radio Corporation of America (a co-founder of the National Broadcasting Company). The station left the air sometime in 1933 as RCA turned its attention to all-electronic cathode ray tube (CRT) television research. On June 24, 1941, W2XBS received a commercial license under the call letters WNBT (which stood for "NBC Television"). It was one of the first two fully licensed commercial television stations in the United States. The station changed its call letters on October 18, 1954, to WRCA-TV (for NBC's then-parent company, RCA). On May 22, 1960, channel 4 became WNBC-TV. It is the flagship station of the NBC Television Network.
