KUMV TV 8 is an affiliate of the NBC Television Network.
KUMV TV 8 began broadcasting on February 6, 1957. It is a semi-satellite station of KMOT TV 10 in Minot, ND. KUMV/KMOT were sold to the Meyer family of Bismarck. In 1997, the Meyers sold the television stations to Sunrise Television Corporation. Sunrise sold them to The Wicks Group of Companies in 2002. Hoak Media Corporation acquired both stations in July 2006. The sale was approved by the FCC on November 17, 2006.
