WVIZ TV 25 is an affiliate of the PBS Television Network.
WVIZ TV 25 began broadcasting on February 7, 1965. The first voice heard on WVIZ was that of Alan R. Stephenson, the first director of WVIZ's educational services department. WVIZ's first affiliation was with National Educational Television (NET), which became PBS in 1970. In December 2001, WVIZ/PBS merged with Cleveland National Public Radio (NPR) station WCPN FM 90.3 to establish a unified source for public broadcasting and lectures. The non-profit entity is known as Ideastream.
