The Dayton Daily News will demote 10 editorial managers to staff/reporter positions, the Dayton Business Journal reported on December 14, 2009:

"All managers in the newsroom staff are currently interviewing, and following the interview process, the staff will be notified who retains the position of manager and who will be offered a lesser position. The headcount at the paper will remain the same, newspaper spokeswoman Emily Chambers said, but she would not say how many total staff is in the newsroom currently.

This is the latest move in a string of restructuring at the daily newspaper. In September the company began offering buyouts to staff, though Chambers declined to say how many employees accepted those offers."
