Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 3:50pm on Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 | The Toledo Blade is offering $1 subscriptions to out-of-work residents, the newspaper reported on October 20, 2009:
"The Blade is offering special three-month “Job Hunter” home delivery subscriptions for $1 to anyone who is out of work so they can see the newspaper’s job listings.
“The [economic] outlook is improving — but not fast enough to get everyone gainfully employed again,” said Dick Fuller, The Blade’s director of circulation. “Some individuals in our community will be job hunting for another six months to a year. We wanted them to have access to information about openings as soon as possible.”
The subscription is renewable in three-month increments for up to a year as long as the individual is still seeking employment. Individuals must live in areas that receive Blade home delivery service, and they may be asked to show proof that they qualify for unemployment benefits."
