KOCO TV 5 is a TV station in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA airing ABC network programs, local news and weather.

The station is an affiliate of the ABC Television Network.

KOCO TV 5 is the ABC network affiliate station in Oklahoma City, broadcasting across central Oklahoma.

It began broadcasting on July 2, 1954 as KGEO TV. The call letters were changed to KOCO in 1958 when the station was moved from Enid to Oklahoma City. Combined Communications acquired KOCO in 1970 from Cimarron Television. Nine years later, Combined Communications merged with Gannett Company, Inc.. Gannett owned KOCO until January 1997 when it traded KOCO and another station to Argyle Television Holdings II in exchange for a different pair of stations. Argyle merged with Hearst Broadcasting in August of that year, creating what was then known as Hearst-Argyle Television. The company renamed itself Hearst Television in May 2009.

TV News Anchor Says Her Co-Host Looks Like a Gorilla
-- While showing a video of a baby gorilla on KOCO TV 5 in Oklahoma City, morning news anchor Alex Housden said to her co-host Jason Hackett that the animal "kind of looks like you." Unsurprisingly, Housden is white and Hackett is black. The next day, Housden offered a tearful on-air apology to Hackett.
