Pittsburgh Press

Pittsburgh Press is a web site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA covering local news, sports, business, jobs, and community events.

The Press began publishing June 23, 1884. It entered into a joint operating agreement with its chief rival, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, in the 1960s. Following a protracted union strike that began in 1991, then-owner E.W. Scripps Co. sold the larger-circulation Press to Block Communications, owner of the smaller-circulation Post-Gazette. Block ceased operations of the Press in 1992. On November 14, 2011, the company announced that the Press would return in online-only, subscription form as the afternoon edition of the Post-Gazette.

This web site is owned by Block Communications, Inc..
