New York and Pittsburgh (January 28, 2010) -- The content partnership is a multi-year agreement and begins in Pittsburgh immediately followed by a continuing roll out throughout the region. Under the content partnership, Allmenus.com powers the online dining section of the Post-Gazette web site, http://www.post-gazette.com/diningguide, immediately transforming it into the largest online dining guide in Western Pennsylvania. The new guide contains thousands of regional restaurant menus, offering hundreds of online ordering restaurants, and an exclusive "Dining Deals" discount certificate program developed by Allmenus specifically for Post-Gazette readers and local restaurateurs.
"We're pleased to be able to provide our readers with the robust dining guide and online meal ordering capabilities that are a result of this innovative partnership," said Christopher H. Chamberlain, president of the Post-Gazette. "Plus, it's great for our relationships with local restaurants to be able to offer an additional channel that drives business to them."
"Our partnership with the Post-Gazette is a model that will work exceptionally well for our restaurant partners and local consumers alike," said Frank Blot, CEO of Allmenus.com.
An integrated regional marketing campaign named "Hungry for More," with tagline, "When you're hungry for more," launches simultaneously to support the content partnership and roll out. Created by Allmenus' advertising agency, Stein Rogan + Partners, "Hungry for More" includes a newly designed dining guide micro-site for post-gazette.com (http://www.post-gazette.com/diningguide), print and banner advertising, widgets, and select social media elements.

Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 4:40pm on Monday, November 23rd, 2009 | Post-Gazette Offers Buyouts To 144 Managers, the Pittsburgh Tribune Review reported on November 6, 2009:
"The offer was the newspaper's third buyout offer in 13 months.
In a statement, P-G President Chris Chamberlain described the move as "simply an effort to reduce expenses, given the difficult economic environment."
P-G officials declined to specify how much in costs the newspaper hoped to save, details of the offer or how long managers have to accept it. Nor would they say if there would be layoffs if few employees accept the offer.
"It's a private matter between us and our employees," said marketing director Tracey DeAngelo.
The newspaper, which employs about 900 people total, is owned by Block Communications of Toledo, Ohio."

Mondo Times editors Boulder, Colorado USA | Posted at 1:33pm on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 | The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette launched PG+, a members-only website, on September 1, 2009.
Sally Kalson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wrote this story:
"At 12:01 this morning, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette launched PG+, a members-only Web site with interactive features and exclusive content by Post-Gazette staffers above and beyond what the Post-Gazette already provides in its daily print and online versions.
PG+ will not replace post-gazette.com, which will continue to offer the same breaking news, features and multimedia content as always. Instead, it allows subscribers access to a new stream of exclusive blogs, videos, live chats and behind-the-scenes looks at the news of the day.
The new site, hosted by a team of PG bloggers, emphasizes user interaction, with commenting throughout the site. Members also will be able to create a social networking profile to keep the conversation going.
Content is being provided by some of the Post-Gazette's best-known personalities, including Ed Bouchette, Mackenzie Carpenter, Doug Oster, Reg Henry, Jack Kelly and Gene Collier.
Longtime Post-Gazette editor/producer Katy Buchanan is the site's editorial coordinator.
PG+ members also gain access to special Post-Gazette events, along with deals and discounts for sports, retail and entertainment venues.
The PG+ address is www.post-gazette.com/plus, which can now be accessed for an introductory tour.
The annual membership fee is $36, and monthly memberships are $3.99. For a limited time, those who sign up for an annual membership will receive a free copy of "Super Six," a book by the Post-Gazette chronicling the Steelers' most recent Super Bowl victory, a $14.95 value.
PG+ is not only new for the Post-Gazette; it's also a new, if not unique, approach to the online pay model for the news industry. Most news organizations that are contemplating charging for content are thinking of using "micro-charges," billing a small amount for clicks on individual stories. PG+, on the other hand, does not put any existing content behind a pay wall. Rather, it offers members access to a full array of all-new material while continuing the regular offerings as before."
