Kim Taylor Astoria, Oregon | Posted at 11:36am on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 | Just wanted to let you all know that I very much enjoyed my time in Newell. I was staying with Al and Milly Violett(uncle and aunt) and my son Troy attended the middle school there. What a difference from what my son and I were used to! My son really misses his friends and comments frequently on how he misses the way Newell residents would wave at other drivers whether they knew them or not. We took many scenic trips on the backroads there and people were just as friendly out of town as in. No wonder my relatives like it there so much. I also emjoyed keeping up with local events via "The Irrigator". Here's to the continued "Newell Renewell" and perhaps we will visit again soon. Thanks for making us feel so welcome there.
