The newspaper is published seven days a week.

The Standard Times was founded in 1884 by J.G. Murphy, San Angelo's second mayor. Murphy sold the newspaper in the 1920s to Houston H. Harte. In 1924 it became one of the two original flagships of the Harte-Hanks newspaper chain. Scripps acquired the newspaper from Harte-Hanks in 1997.

Circulation: 18,129 copies

This newspaper is owned by E.W. Scripps Company.
