Mondo Times editors Boulder Colorado USA | Posted at 12:58pm on Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 | Utah Town May See Stars at 2010 Sundance Festival
The Ogden (Ut.) Standard-Examiner reported on January 22, 2010:
"Will Ogden be seeing stars during this year's Sundance in Ogden screenings?
No one knows, but the festival does ask directors if they would like to participate in question-and-answer sessions after film screenings, and a few directors have given Ogden screenings a tentative "yes."
And sometimes directors bring along cast members who aren't busy skiing, snoozing or schmoozing. Plus, two directors known for their own acting careers have expressed interest in doing a Q-and-A after Ogden screenings.
"This can change, but at least it's somewhere to start," said Sundance director scheduler Virginia Pearce.
Those directors:
"Hesher" director Spencer Susser. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rainn Wilson and Natalie Portman. Screens at 6:30 p.m. today. Wait list only.
"Homewrecker" filmmakers Todd and Brad Barnes. 9:30 p.m. today.
"Waiting for Superman" documentary director Davis Guggenheim. He also directed "An Inconvenient Truth." Guggenheim is married to actress Elisabeth Shue. Screens at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
"Sympathy for Delicious" director Mark Ruffalo (acting credit, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Acting in the Sundance film are Orlando Bloom, Juliette Lewis, Laura Linney and Christopher Thornton. Screens at 7 p.m. Monday.
"Bran Nue Dae" director Rachel Perkins. Geoffrey Rush is featured. Screens at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Josh Radnor , star of "How I Met Your Mother," also acts in his film "Happythankyoumoreplease," which also features Malin Akerman ("Watchmen") and Zoe Kazan ("It's Complicated"). Screens at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
"Skateland" director Anthony Burns. Actors in his film include Shiloh Fernandez ("Deadgirl," "Jericho") and Ashley Greene (the "Twilight" films). Screens at 7 p.m. Thursday."
