The News traces its roots to the founding of The Kenosha Evening News on October 22, 1894. The newspaper changed ownership several times over the years. On Monday, April 30, 1962, the 67-year-old Kenosha Evening News nameplate disappeared forever, replaced on the masthead by the Kenosha News. The newspaper eventually became part of United Communications Corporation.
