Tracing its roots back to June 1859, The Visalia Times-Delta is the oldest newspaper in the San Joaquin Valley and the sixth oldest daily newspaper in California. It was originally called the Tulare County Record and Fresno Examiner. The Visalia Times-Delta was purchased by Speidel Newspapers Inc. in 1948. In 1976, Speidel sold the Visalia Times-Delta to Gannett Co. Inc.
The Visalia Times-Delta shares it newsdesk and staff with its sister paper the Tulare Advance Register.
