The newsapaper covers local community news and events with a focus on events and happenings around the University of Colorado (CU).

It was CU's student newspaper until 1971, when it became independent after an editorial angered the school's Board of Regents. In September 2005, owner Randy Miller sold the paper to the E. W. Scripps company.
