KBCO will leave Boulder for a new studio in the Denver Tech Center, the Boulder Daily Camera reported on January 14, 2010:

"Boulder's KBCO radio station will be moving to a new studio in Clear Channel's Denver Tech Center complex this spring, program manager Scott Arbough said Thursday.

Arbough said the station, founded in 1977 and now owned by Texas-based radio giant Clear Channel, will remain a Boulder station, despite having its studio in south Denver.

"It still is a Boulder station," Arbough said. "We're still licensed here. Most of us live here, and none of us plan to move, at least as far as I know."

All the deejays and the program line-up on 97.3 FM will remain the same, and there will be no staff layoffs, Arbough said. The station's tower will remain on top of Eldorado Mountain, and its coverage area won't change.

"As far as listeners are concerned, it won't change at all," he said. "The only change is that we'll be much improved in terms of the quality of equipment we have to use."

Clear Channel is in the process of upgrading and remodeling all of its studios in its complex at the Denver Tech Center, which also houses KTCL 93.3 FM, KPTT 95.7 FM, KRFX 103.5 FM, KBPI 106.7 FM, KHOW 630 AM and KOA 850 AM."
