FSView & Florida Flambeau is a newspaper in Tallahassee, Florida, USA covering university news, education, sports, and campus events.
The newspaper is published twice each week, on Monday and Thursday
The FSView & Florida Flambeau is a combination of two prior publications that competed for readership during the 1990s. The officially recognized, university-supported Florida Flambeau started out during the time of the Florida State College for Women in 1915. In 1971, The Flambeau became independent from the university. Then, in 1992, its main rival, the privately owned FSView, challenged the Flambeau's audience. The Flambeau had come under criticism by some university and student leaders as being harshly critical of fraternities and sororities. In 1998, the Flambeau was bought out by the FSView, which had gained momentum by acquiring the ads of fraternities and sororities. On August 3, 2006, it was reported that Gannett had acquired the FSView & Florida Flambeau, although, according to the deal, the college paper would remain "student-run".
Circulation: 25,000 copies
